Forget Kabbalah. The latest craze taking Hollywood by storm these days is Texas Hold'Em, better known as the Cadillac of poker.
Ben Affleck, Tobey Maguire, Mimi Rogers, James Woods and Gabe Kaplan are the five most avid poker players in Tinseltown, according to Vanity Fair's March issue.
You're likely to find a home game being played any night of the week by actors, producers, writers and directors, says the mag. And it's far from cheap.
Buy-in's can range from $300 (at producer John Landau's home) to $10,000 (at producer Reagan Silber's spread).
What's the appeal of home poker? For starters, there are no gawkers or flashbulbs.
But are actors really any good? As producer Michael Roban puts it, "It's a game of lying and deception, and actors are generally pretty good at that."
